Serving Meals,
Spreading Smiles

Our food drives during the pandemic brought nourishment, dignity, and care to over 250 families.

Provision of Food, Clothing, and Essentials

Through pandemic hardship, we brought meals, dignity, and compassion to Kalighat families.

Krishnaa Foundation works to address the immediate material needs of the community. Through bi-annual saree drives and other efforts, we provide food, clothing, and essentials to sex workers and their families. These initiatives are vital for ensuring that basic needs are met and that individuals feel supported.

➤ Periodic distribution of clothes, blankets, and other essentials donated by individuals and organizations

➤ On-demand distributions during festivals and emergencies ensure families have access to essentials

➤ Emergency medical assistance during crises, including support for epidemics like malaria and dengue

Food Drives 2020–2021: Serving Hope in Crisis

between mid-2020 and late-2021, Krishnaa Foundation stepped up during the height of the pandemic—distributing food rations, cooked meals, and essential supplies to around 250 residents of Kalighat, including sex workers and their families. We partnered with grassroots groups like Kids Center Kolkata and New Light to reach homes directly when fuel and resources were scarce.

Why These Drives Were Critical

During times of crisis, many vulnerable families struggle to meet even their most basic needs. Our drives ensured immediate access to food, clothing, healthcare, and daily essentials — resources that often mean the difference between security and uncertainty.
By stepping in during fuel shortages, disease outbreaks, and economic hardships, these efforts not only addressed urgent survival needs but also restored dignity and hope. Each drive was a lifeline, bridging the gap between scarcity and support, while strengthening trust within the community.
